Somehow a few early photos survived all this.
I have never asked how. Two in particular struck me because he has them on the wall of his flat.
I have used them on the Home Page.
One shows Maurice and his sister in an Amsterdam Park the other shows them, in similar pose, beneath a lion in Trafalgar Square.
What struck me was the blankness, not seen in the photos, the gaping void of what happened in between these two pictures. (see home page)

I spent ages going through the photos.
I called in Gemma Carrington who had been a student at the NFTS. She loves working with archive material and I asked her to use the photos in a way that reflected something she felt about them and the subject matter.
Then I edited them.
